Bridget’s Nutri Cocina restaurant

This is the ideal place for early risers, since it’s across the street from the bus stop and opens and 5:30 am.  Value meals are available from $2.00 to $4.00 including coffee or fresh juice.

This is a small family run restaurant owned and operated by Rosa Urbina and her daughter Bridgett.

Indoor seating is available.  If you are there on a Saturday, definitely try the tamales with chaya.  It’s rich and spicy, with enough Kol, which is the chicken stock, spiced with Red Recado, a little Habanero pepper for flavor and ground corn.  The Chaya, is a leafy vegetable similar to Spinach but with a hint of sweet.  It is a favorite of the Mayas.  The Mayas also believed it to be a source of iron for the body.

Whatever your choice, you will very likely leave this place quite satisfied.  It is a favorite for workers of the Orange Walk Town Council, whose office is nearby.

The hot pepper sauce is home made and extremely potent.  It doesn’t have much flavor but certainly packs heat!
